David Ellis Live at Co-Lab

Event: Saturday, April 17, 4-11PM

Join Landmarks and Domy Books for a special event to meet New York artist, David Ellis at Co-Lab.

Ellis has been commissioned by Landmarks to create an original video that will premiere at the opening of the Department of Art & Art History’s new Visual Arts Center, which opens the weekend of 23 – 26 September 2010. Ellis is in residence at the VAC galleries through 23 April 2010.

Called a “tour de force” by The New York Times, Ellis is known for his innovative motion paintings that reference contemporary culture and captivate audiences.

Ellis’s work has been included in exhibitions at Upper Playground, the Mattress Factory, P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center, and the ICA Philadelphia. His motion painting “Paint on Trucks in a World in Need of Love” was exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. At this time, Joshua Liner Gallery in New York is featuring an exhibition curated by Ellis called “Barnstormers.” It includes works by forty artists who are part of the collaborative group founded by Ellis.
